ABOUT
The Black T-Shirt is a reference standard.
Two years of work. Five locations across two continents. Cotton grown in California on fields laser-leveled to a tenth of an inch per hundred feet. Yarn spun at a 130-year-old mill in Nantong. Fabric knit on a machine running 7,680 needles. Dyed and finished on a line that exists in only a handful of factories worldwide.
At every step there was a cheaper option. We didn't take it.
One shirt. Built to one standard. Three years from now, it will still be the best shirt you own.
SPINNING
The Yarn
Two-ply, spun at a 130-year-old mill in Jiangsu.
Dress-shirt-fine yarn, rarely attempted for t-shirts. The mill runs as an automated smart factory, measuring every meter to hair-fine tolerances, so it won't twist, pill, or lose its shape.

240 GSM double interlock. 92% Supima® ELS, 8% solution-dyed Lycra.
Knit dense enough to be fully opaque, with real weight that drapes instead of clinging. The stretch yarn is dyed through to the core, so seams never shine.

The Treatment
Anhydrous liquid ammonia. Fewer than 1% of shirts ever get it.
Ammonia permanently restructures the cotton's cellulose, something dye and wash never can. It sets a smoother hand and leaves the fabric pre-shrunk and stable. Slow, expensive, and worth it.

The Color
Reactive dye, full penetration. Measured, not eyeballed.
The color is locked into the core of every fiber instead of sitting on the surface, where cheap black washes to grey. It stays that black.

Durability Testing
50 washes. Measured.
Independently washed. Not by us. Both shirts went to a third-party textile laboratory for 50 cycles on a standard test method.
The cut sleeve, holes and tag are the lab's, for their own testing and records. Not wear. Both shirts were prepared the same way.
80°F wash, 1.8 kg load, AATCC standard detergent, tumble-dry low. Same machine, same load, both shirts. We measured every key dimension before and after. The only variable was the shirt.

FAQ
How long does delivery take?
5 to 10 business days from the day your batch ships. Orders ship from Shenzhen via air, and you receive a local-carrier tracking number for final delivery in your country.
How much is shipping?
$10 flat, worldwide. Free on any order of three or more shirts, including the 3-Pack and the 5-Pack.
Can I mix sizes in a 3-Pack or 5-Pack?
The 5-Pack can be any mix of sizes: add any five shirts to your cart and the 5-Pack price applies automatically. The 3-Pack is three shirts in one size. Orders of three or more ship free either way.
Will I have to pay customs or import fees?
No. There are no additional duties or tariffs at delivery. The price you pay at checkout is the total price.
What is the return policy?
30-day returns for unworn and unwashed items in original packaging. Size exchanges available. Start either one from the Support page with your order number.
How do I pick my size?
XS through 3XL. The shirt drapes straight from the shoulder without clinging. Use the Size Chart on the product page: set your chest, pick how you want it to wear (Fitted, Standard, or Relaxed), and it shows your size.
What size does Joe wear?
Joe, our founder, is 5'6" with a 39" chest, which makes him a medium in most brands. He likes a more fitted look, so he wears a small. If you want the same closer fit, choose Fitted in the Size Chart.
Is the shirt pre-shrunk?
Yes, the fabric is pre-shrunk. Third-party lab tested: 0% shrinkage when hung to dry, and 2% after three rounds of tumble dry. For the least shrinkage, hang it to dry.
Do you offer any colors other than black?
We set out to make a shirt without compromise, which is why we offer it in a single color. Every decision was made to create the best black shirt possible. We may add other colors in the future.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Yes, if it has not shipped. Go to the Support page, select "Cancel or change my order", and include your order number. Address changes and cancellations are processed before your batch ships.
